I have a strong record of teaching excellence in the classroom and mentoring graduate students. I was honored to receive the college-level Faculty Impact Award in 2018 for my efforts working with students, and the Donald F. Koch Award for Quality in Undergraduate Teaching at Michigan State University in 2022. I also serve as a board member at the ComArtSci Center for Teaching and Learning.
At the undergraduate level, I teach the Introduction to Human Communication course and an upper-level course on Media Entertainment. For graduate students, I teach a course on University Teaching, as well as a seminar on Media Effects.
I currently direct two research teams of students at various levels of the PhD or MA program, as well as supervise a host of honors students and undergraduate research assistants in my lab each year.
